Welcome to the Sacramento Tri-County Area
When checking up on a city, a state or even an entire country, it pays to make a thorough examination. For example, when the rest of the nation began grappling with a recession a few years back, California remained in good shape. Likewise, while California has been lagging behind the rest of the country in regaining its economic vigor, there are plenty of places within the state that are doing quite well.
Take a healthy look at the Sacramento area and you'll see a collection of strong, vibrant communities in which to live, work and play.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!
Sacramento covers a wide swath of Northern California, just a couple of hours to the southwest by car on coast-to-coast Interstate 80. World class mountain ski resorts are even closer to the east around Lake Tahoe.
The area covers an incredible variety of terrain. The southern end is part of the wide, flat Sacramento Valley. Head northward and eastward and you'll start seeing gently rolling hills. Keep the same heading past Loomis and up to the county seat of Auburn, and the hills have become steep and wooded. Head west and you will find San Francisco and the Napa Valley.

WONDERFUL WEATHER!
The Sacramento area enjoys a mild climate with an abundance of sunshine and very low humidity. The summers are quite dry, with warm days and pleasant evenings. Summer daytime temperatures have been known to go over 100 degrees, although the average high for July (the warmest month) is 93 degrees. One must take into consideration, however, the extremely low relative humidity that accompanies these temperatures when comparing climate with that of cities in more humid regions.

The prevailing winds are southerly throughout the year, with the exception of November. Occasionally, these northerly winds become very warm and dry and can contribute to pronounced heat waves. Fortunately, these "northers" are quite rare and are usually followed by two or three days of cool southerly winds.
Because of the shielding effect of the high mountains around Sacramento, the area experiences fairly moderate winter storms. Although winter temperatures can dip into the 20's, 45 to 50 degrees is the average winter temperature.
Three-fourths of the total annual precipitation falls during the rainy season from November through March. Even during this period, however, rain falls in measurable amounts on only nine days out of the month. Although torrential rainstorms and heavy snows are common in the Sierra and Cascade mountain ranges surrounding the area, excessive rainfall, snow and damaging windstorms are quite rare in the valley.
Heavy fog occurs mostly during midwinter; however a low lying, early morning "tule fog" can occur any time during the wet, cold season and drivers should use caution.
